Biography


The Therapist


A Gestalt Psychotherapist trained at the Humanist Institute of Gestalt Psychotherapy (IHPG) in Mexico, he studied a specialty in Rogerian Approach, Dream Management, and Holistic Health-Disease Approach in Gestalt. He is a professor at IHPG Mexico, where he has offered advanced supervision since 1996. He created the specialty on group management for Gestalt psychotherapy and the specialty of border/touch work.


He offers this training in different venues over Mexico as well as in France at the IFG (Institut Français de Gestalt Thérapie), Summer University Valencia Spain, in Gestalt Foundation of Lima Peru , University San Andrés La Paz Bolivia, Centro de Gestalt Terapia Sao Paulo Brazil and more recently in California at the PGI (Pacific Gestalt Institute) where he is a guest faculty


From 1996 to 2008, he facilitated a therapy group, for seropositive persons, at Fundación Mexicana para la Lucha Contra el SIDA [Mexican Foundation to Fight Against AIDS].


He has taught courses at ITAM, and UAM. He is a collaborator of Círculo de Estudios en Psicoterapia Existencial de México [Mexico’s Study Circle of Existential Psychotherapy].


In 2008, he gave various training workshops for the staff of the Secretariat of Social Development (SEDESOL), in Mexico. He presented his work as a therapist in various congresses and venues in France, Spain, Peru, Brazil, and Mexico. As a painter, since 1975, he has taken part in over 50 individual and collective exhibitions in countries such as France, England, Argentina, Canada, and the United States.
In Mexico, his exhibitions have been shown in various spaces such as Museo de la Ciudad de México, Polyforum Siqueiros, Palacio de Minería, Galería José María Velasco, Museo José Luis Cuevas.
He has also designed the covers of various psychology books. His installation “The Tribe” was exhibited for a year in 10 different subway stations in Mexico City. Invited by the theater troupe El Hueco, in 2005, at Centro Nacional de las Artes, he gave two workshops (disestablishment of the creative process) for multidisciplinary artists. From 2006 to 2008, he created and gave, at Centro Nacional de las Artes, the course “Ser y hacer” [To Be and To Do] for undergraduate students. In 2017, he presents the exhibition MANDALA, UNA ESTETICA TERAPEUTICA [MANDALA, A THERAPEUTIC AESTHETICS] at Festival Internacional Cervantino, in Guanajuato.
His last recent show was Mandala , a peace instrument , presented in the Senate old building in Mexico City and in Torre del Reloj.
